מר אריה שמיר (ירושלים)    Mr. Arie Shamir (Jerusalem)

      מר אריה שמיר נולד בעיר ביאליסטוק וגדל בה.

      בשנת 1938 עלה מר שמיר ארצה. מתקופה זו הוא גויס לפעילות הגנתית במסגרת המשטרה והצבא.

      כיום מתמקד מר שמיר בכתיבה עיתונאית, בעיקר בעיתונות האידית: "הביאליסטוקר שטימע" וה"פורברס".

      מר שמיר חוקר ומספר על ביאליסטוק היהודית, על כל היבטיה ההיסטוריים והתרבותיים. בכתיבתו ניכרת אהבתו לעיר  הולדתו ולהוויה היהודית ששרתה בה.

ברוניה קליבנסקה ויניצקי  Bronia Klibanski Winicki

      הגב' ברוניה קליבנסקה ילידת גרודנו, גדלה בביאליסטוק.

      הגב' קליבנסקה עברה את כל התקופה ההרואית (כדבריה) בגטו ביאליסטוק, במחתרת כקשרית ובצד האירי. לאחר המלחמה למדה גב' ברוניה קליבנסקה ספרות, אמנות ותיאטרון באוניברסיטאות ג'נבה וציריך.

      עבדה באירופה עם נוער יהודי מצפון אפריקה ועלתה לארץ בשנת 1949.

      למדה ארכיונאות ופילוסופיה באוניברסיטה העברית.

      גב' קליבנסקה עבדה כחוקרת ב"יד ושם" ופרסמה מאמרים רבים על השואה והגבורה בפולין.

      גב' ברוניה קליבנסקי היא תושבת ירושלים, חברת כבוד של איגוד הארכיונאים, חברת מועצת "עד ושם" ואירגון מורדי הגיטאות והפרטיזנים.

      גב' ברוניה קליבנסקה כתבה ספר שיצא לאור בשנת 2002, על תקופת השואה בביאליסטוק ועל המרד בגטו ביאליסטוק כנגד כל הסיכויים בשם: אריאדנה .  מתוך הספר: "הלילה הארוך והאפל של הכיבוש הגרמני, לילה שהעלה עשן של מיליוני גופות, לא נעדר נקודות אור. אור יציב בל יימחק המגיע אלינו ממציאות מכוסה שכחה. אור המעורר בנו רגשות התעלות, קדושה וכבוד לכל אלה שלחמו ונפלו בהאמינם במחר טוב יותר."

      הגב' אווה קרצ'ובסקי הנה ילידת ביאליסטוק.

      הגב' קרצובסקי הייתה בגיטו והשתתפה פעילה במרד הגדול.

      עם נפילת הגיטו הצטרפה לפרטיזנים והיתה פעילה בקרבם עד סוף המלחמה.

      היא היחידה ששרדה ממשפחתה.

      בשנת 1961 עלתה גב' אווה קרצ'ובסקה לארץ והמשיכה את פעילותה החינוכית בהוראת המתמטיקה ב"תיכון חדש" בתל-אביב ובאוניברסיטה.

      כיום משתתפת הגב' קרצ'ובסקה בפעילות של אירגון יומאי ביאליסטוק והסביבה ובארגון הלוחמים בנאצים והפרטיזנים.

עדה הולצמן Ada Holtzman

      גב' עדה הולצמן ילידת קיבוץ עברון, דור המשך לאירגון יוצאי גומבין.

      הגב' הולצמן היא אנליסטית בחברת תעופה, שלקחה על עצמה עבודת קודש של הנצחת זכר השואה באתר אינטרנט אותו היא הקימה ומתחזקת.

      מזה שלוש שנים קשורה גב' הולצמן לאירגון יוצאי ביאליסטוק והסביבה. הקימה את האתר של האירגון ודואגת להרחיבו במידע וחומרים כתובים המתרבים מיום ליום.

      אנו מציינים בהערכה רבה את פעילותה ההתנדבותית הברוכה, אשר מצעידה אותנו מעולם העבר – עם הטכנולוגיה החדישה – לעתיד.

אריה זיו – זכריאש  Arie Ziv Zachariasz

      מר אריה זיו יליד ביאליסטוק, דור שני להורים ילידי העיר.

      האם רחל זבלודובסקי  Rachel Zabludowski  – עברה את תקופת השואה באושוויץ ובעבודות כפיה קשות בהנחת מסילות ברזל.

      האב  חיים זכריאש  Chaim Zachariasz – שהה בתקופה קשה זו בזהות שאולה בגרמניה.

      מר אריה זיו עלה ארצה בשנת 1957. שנים רבות היה איש קבע בצה"ל.

              השנה עם מותה של האם רחל, החליט מר אריה זיו להנציח את זכר ההורים ע"י הענקת מערכת מחשוב לחדש ההנצחה של היכל ביאליסטוק. מערכת זו תוכל לסייע בעבודות המשרד, אך בעיקר בחשיפת המבקרים לחומרים הנמצאים באינטרנט.

חנה זהר סבירסקי Chana Zohar Sbirski

      הגב' חנה זהר ילידת ביאליסטוק, נמנית עם "ילדי דרוסקניק", אותם ילדים אשר נסעו לקייטנה בקיץ 41 ומצאו את עצמם כעבור מספר חודשים בבית-יתומים באורל; ע"י כך ניצלו חייהם בעוד רוב משפחותיהם שנשארו בביאליסטוק לא שרדו.

      הגב' זהר עלתה ארצה בשנת 1947, דרך צרפת וקפריסין.

      בשנת 1954 קבעה הגב' זהר את ביתה בקרית ביאליסטוק וכאן היא מגדלת כבר דור שני ושלישי.

  Mr. Arie Shamir (Jerusalem)

* Mr. Arie Shamir was born and raised in Bialystok.

* In 1938, Mr. Shamir made Aliyah to Israel. Since then, he has been active in the  defense forces within the police and the IDF.

* Today Mr. Shamir concentrates on journalistic writing, especially in the Yiddish press: "Bialystoker Shtimme" and the "Forverts".

* Mr. Shamir researches and lectures on the Jewish Bialystok from its historical and cultural aspect. His writing reflects his deep love for his city of birth and the Jewish experience inherent within. 

Bronia Klibanski Winicki

* Ms. Bronia Klibanski was born in Grodno, and raised in Bialystok. 

* Ms. Bronia Klibanski experienced the (in her own words) heroic period of the Bialystok Ghetto, as a signaller in the underground and on the Aryan side. After the war, Ms. Bronia Klibanski taught literature, art and theater in the Universities of Geneva and Zurich.

* She worked in Europe with Jewish youth from North Africa and made Aliyah to Israel in 1949.

* She learned Archiving and Philosophy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

* Ms. Bronia Klibanski was a researcher at "Yad Vashem" and has published many articles on the Shoah and heroism in Poland.

* Ms. Bronia Klibanski is a resident of Jerusalem, an honorary member of the Association of Archivists, Member of the "Yad Vashem" Board, and of the Ghetto Fighters and Partisans Organization.

* Ms. Bronia Klibanski wrote a book published in 2002, on the Shoah in Bialystok and on the Bialystok Ghetto revolt against all odds: Ariadne. From the book: "The long gloomy night of the German occupation, a night that brought millions of bodies to smoke, was not without rays of light, a steady ray of light that could not be erased that reaches us through a reality shrouded in forgetfulness. This light awakens in us feelings of elation, sanctity and respect to all those who fought and fell believing in a better tomorrow."

Eva Kracowski

Eva Kracowski: Never Again!

* Ms. Eva Kracowski was born in Bialystok.

* Ms. Eva Kracowski was in the ghetto and actively participated in the great revolt.   

* With the fall of the ghetto, she joined the partisans where she was active until the end of the war.

* She is the sole survivor of her family.

* In 1961, Ms. Eva Kracowski made Aliyah to Israel and continued her educational activities teaching mathematics at the New High School in Tel Aviv and at the University.

* Today, Ms. Eva Kracowski is active in the Landsmanschaft of Bialystok and Surrounding Areas, and in the Ghetto Fighters and Partisans Organization.

  Ada Holtzmann

* Ms. Ada Holtzmann was born in Kibbutz Evron, second generation from the Landsmanschaft of Gombin.  

* Ms. Ada Holtzmann is an analyst in an airline, who has taken upon herself the sacred work of perpetuating the memory of the Shoah in a website she designed and maintains.

* It has been 3 years since Ms. Ada Holtzmann has been in contact with the Landsmanschaft of Bialystok and Surrounding Areas. She set up the website of the Landsmanschaft and constantly updates it with new material and information.

* We greatly appreciate her blessed voluntary activity that leads us from the world of the past – with the latest technology – to the world of the future.

Arie Ziv - Zachariasz

* Mr. Arie Ziv was born in Bialystok, second generation to parents who were born there.

* His mother Rachel Zabludowski was in Aushwitz during the war and at various forced labor camps laying down railroad tracks.

* His father Chaim Zachariasz spent these difficult years with a disguised identity in Germany.

* Mr. Arie Ziv made Aliyah to Israel in 1957. For many years, he was a commissioned officer in the Israel Defense Forces.

* This year, with the death of his mother Rachel, Mr. Arie Ziv decided to perpetuate the memory of his parents by donating a new computer system to the Memorial Room of the Bialystok Museum. This will help us in our office work, but mainly will enable us to show our visitors the wealth of materials on the internet.  

Chana Zohar Sbirski

* Ms. Chana Zohar was born in Bialystok, one of the "Druskieniki Children" who went to summer camp in the summer of 1941, and found themselves several months later in an orphanage in the Ural. Thus their lives were saved, while most of their families who remained in Bialystok perished.

* Ms. Zohar made Aliya to Israel in 1947 via France and Cyprus.

* In 1954, Ms. Zohar made Kiryat Bialystok her home where she is raising a second and a third generation.
