We Remember the Jewish Cemetery Of Wysokie Mazowiecki!
This stone shall be a witness unto us... (Joshua; 24;27)
The attached photos of the Wysokie Mazowieckie Cemetery have been provided by Eliyahu Hershfeld. They were taken in February 2000 were taken by Pavel Dorman (see http://www.polishjews.org ) and show the sad state of the Wysokie Mazowieckie Cemetery. Adv. Michael Traison has confirmed that in his 2003 visits that the cemetery remains in the same condition.
These pictures are from the "newer" cemetery in which burial were thought to have initiated in about 1840-1850. The "older" cemetery is now paved over at the bus station. As can be seen from the photos only two tombstones are standing and many are laying on the ground and partially buried. The entire area has been overgrown.
