Subject: Searching: RYCER in Israe
My parents were raised in Rovno and Kremenets, and left the Ukraine by way of Cuba in the ealy 1930's.
My wife, Victoria Iwanij, was born in Kiev. Her parents had fled there from Warsaw as the war began. Victoria's grandparents were Eugenia FRENKEL and Chaim RYCER. They had four children, three of whom survived the war. We are searching for the two younger siblings:
Victoria's mother, Tatiana RYCER, was born in Warsaw on December 28, 1912 and married Dimitri Iwanij, a reknown Ukrainian actor. They returned to Warsaw in 1956, and came to New York in 1969.
Tatiana's brother, Seweryn (or Sewek) RYCER was born in Warsaw in 1915. He left for Israel with his younger sister, Yadwiga RYCER (b. Warsaw, 1923) in the mid 1950's.
Sewek
had a degree in Civil Engineering from the Warsaw Polytechnic and worked as an Irrigation Engineer in Israel. He married twice but had no children. He may still be living in Tel Aviv but we cannot search the telephone book.Yadwiga
is no longer alive. In Warsaw, she married a man named KATZ, and they had two daughters: Miriam and Tova (born ca. 1955 and 1960). The sisters are both married and have children somewhere in Israel. My wife also talks of a second cousin named Dumanis. His wife, now in her 70's, Alisa Dumanis, may still be alive in Israel?
We will be coming to Tel Aviv on December 23, 2003.
Again, thank you for you help.
