WE REMEMBER THE DISPLACED PERSONS (DP)!
Eschwege, DP Camp in Germany, 17.10.1946: Shika Bruk with Ben Gurion, during his visit for the election to the 22th Zionist congress.
Shika Bruk was a Halutz (a pioneer) from Nowogrodek, who was among the founders of Kibbutz Negba. During 2 years, 1946-7 he served as a "Shaliach", in the Jewish Brigade and was stationed in various DP (Displaced Persons - refugees of WWII) camps in Germany.
A ceremony which took place in DP camp Bremenhaven on 13 July 1949
to mark the 50,000th refugee' sailing to America
