Menyek in a visit to our Kibbutz in 1962. Menyek lost his wife and children in Auschwicz. he had a blue number on his arm. He was very fond of us and used to cry all the time when he visited us with his first beloved wife Miriam, who was a supervisor in the Ministry of Education. It is until very late in life that I realized what we, children "sabra" of his cousin, in a flourishing Kibbutz, meant to him.
Standing to his left is my sister Raya; I am under Menyek in the age of 10, and Oshrit my little sister sits to my left.
